I'm very pleased to bring you our collection of sewn head scarves. These work a little different to our jewellery, they will be uploaded periodically in a 'bulk drop' as a pre-order. We will give you a heads up on our stories when to expect them to go live and you can buy! They sold like hot cakes in our first drop so be quick and set your reminders! You can follow our insta here, so keep an eye out for when the next drop is happening.
These head wraps are inspired by the Women's Land Army and other head wear of 1940's. Land girls did a wide variety of jobs on the land. Scarves could be used as decorative pieces, to keep the hair out of the face or help keep hair protected from dirt.
This is a nod to this particular era in time. There is a huge history of head scarves & head coverings that are well worth further research. From bandanas that originated in India, decorative scarves donned by 40's flappers, Diana Ross beaded headwear in the disco era, Madonnas giant bows and Religious head coverings. Scarf-based headwear is vast, historic & iconic.
